Let us introduce you to this family owned business…..

The first 34 years of my life were spent getting an education, breaking horses, tending cattle and farming.  The stage has always been a part of me as my mother insisted we become entertainers early in life….and I say “we” because I am the 2^nd of 5 brothers.  Playing country music as part of the “Clement Bros. Band” from 1976-1992 helped me a lot in being able to relax in front of people.  In March of 1984 I graduated from The Western College of Auctioneering in Billings Montana to embark upon a career I very much enjoy.  Since then, I have made my living as an auctioneer.  From selling livestock at the St. Joseph Stockyards to selling real estate auctions, Grandma’s antiques, farm auctions and everything in between.  I feel very fortunate in a lot of ways….Kathi and I were married in 1970 and she, along with my daughters Amy Gregory and Jennifer Mathes handle the tough job of clerking and cashiering our auctions.  Justin Gregory (Amy’s husband) is a top hand as ring man and with the power point layouts on the big screen for land sales. Chad Mathes, (Jennifer’s husband) is a great ringman, but his rodeoing schedule limits his availability. Laptop computers have aided our auction business greatly, and allow us to maintain excellent records of every sale, and help us turn your real estate auction into a pictorial presentation….We, at Greg Clement Auctions, are very aware auction day is a special day for you as our client.

Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with almost every auctioneer listed in our area’s phone book.   As many of you know, my partner of 8 years, Joe Schuman passed away Sept.  25, 2009.   I learned a lot from Joe…his example of true compassion for his family and his clients was something few will ever realize.  Believe me, fellow auctioneers, you had to work with the man to fully understand what I’m talking about.  I felt honored to work with him and his family and am proud to be associated with them still today.   As we carry on I want to say Thanks Pard, and I’m looking forward to seeing you again someday.  I’ll bring along some of those little cigars.  Meanwhile, Martie Schuman, Joe’s wife has accepted the responsibilities of carrying on Schuman Auction Services.  Rest assured folks, she’s a pro and will see that your auction is carried out with professionalism and knowledge, her team consists of her family and me.  Joe wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.  Joe would say “makes no difference, call us.  You'll be glad you did”.  When we go to work for you, you have hired not ONE Auction Team but TWO….and our commission rates are competitive.  If you’d like references we’ll send you a list that will include almost every business person (including bankers!) in our area you can think of…just ask.
